Education and OVC Services

Under ECC-SDCOH's education and OVC services sector of intervention there are three components, which are educational services, OVC service and skill training.

 

1. Educational service

 

The component of educational service comprises six major activities as listed below:

1. Educational activity at the level of kinder garden;

2. Educational activity at the level of elementary schools;

3. Educational activity at the level of high schools;

4. Consruction of class rooms, offices and teachers’ residences;

5. Provision of scholastic materials;

6. Facilitating and suporting training of teachers.

 

2. OVC services

 

The component of OVC services comprises five major activities as listed below:

1. Provision of health service package, which are provision of laundry soap, pprovision of sanitary pad, pprovision of medical treatment, pprovision of health education and pprovision of shower service;

2. Provision education service package, which are provision of school uniforms and scholastic materials, provision of  tutorial class, provision of Library  service and award to best performing students;

3. Provision of psychosocial support package, which are group and individual counselling and organizing holiday events;

4. Capacity Building, like vocational skill trainings (vehicle maintenance, wood & metal works, hair dressing), micro credit for guardians / parents, training on business diversification skills and awareness creation sessions on child protection;

5. Networking with government and non-government stakeholders.

 

3. Skill training of youth

 

The component of skill training comprises three major activities as listed below:

1. Short term training for youth on wood work, metal work, mechanic, hair dressing, sewing clothes, bee keeping, fattening, carpet and basket making  and so on;

2. Provision of tools and materials;

3. Provision of initial capital.
